Question 1

How do you actually vet these businesses?

Accepted Answer

We read every application, call or visit before anyone's listed, and check that licensed trades hold a current license. A listing gets reviewed again if complaints come in. There's no algorithm — our judgment decides who stays on the list.

Question 2

Do businesses pay to rank higher?

Accepted Answer

No. Listed businesses pay a membership fee, and it doesn't buy a better spot. The order is Go2Guy Picks first, then review count — what a business pays never moves it up.

Question 3

Is the directory free for me as a customer?

Accepted Answer

Yes — entirely free. You don't even need an account to browse, search, or call a listed business.

Question 4

What if I have a bad experience with a listed business?

Accepted Answer

Contact us directly — the ways to reach us are on the Contact page. A complaint is a reason for us to review a listing again. The directory only works if the Go2Guy name on it actually means something.

Question 5

Why isn't my favorite restaurant / contractor on the list?

Accepted Answer

Most often, we haven't reviewed them yet. A business has to apply, and we call or visit before anyone is listed.

Question 6

What's included with a listing?

Accepted Answer

A business page with photos, services, hours, contact info, and reviews. The Go2Guy Approved badge. Inclusion in directory, category, and city searches.

Question 7

How does membership work?

Accepted Answer

Texas Go2Guy collects a membership fee directly, outside the site — there's no online billing. We'll go over the amount and terms with you before anything is due, and paying it doesn't move you up the list.

Question 8

How long does approval take?

Accepted Answer

We read every application ourselves, then call or visit before anyone is listed. Ask us if you want to know where yours stands.

Question 9

What if my application is turned down?

Accepted Answer

Ask us and we'll talk it through. A required license we can't confirm, for example, is a reason to hold off — and you're welcome to apply again once that is sorted.

Question 10

Can I edit my own listing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The dashboard gives you control over every field — copy, photos, services, hours, social links. Changes go live immediately.

Question 11

How do I sign in?

Accepted Answer

With an email link or a one-time code — no password to remember. Enter your email on the sign-in page and follow the link, or type in the code we send.

Question 12

I didn't get my sign-in email

Accepted Answer

Check spam first — it can land there on the first try. Still nothing after a few minutes? Reach out and we will resend it.

Question 13

How do photos work?

Accepted Answer

Upload them from your dashboard. Each photo is capped at 4 MB, and it shows up on your page as soon as it finishes uploading — no approval wait.

Question 14

What does the assistant on my page know?

Accepted Answer

Only what's on your page and the FAQ answers you've added yourself. It doesn't know anything about your business beyond that, and it can't make promises you haven't made on the page.

Question 15

How do I leave the network?

Accepted Answer

Contact us directly and we'll take your listing down.
